MiDatabank is a Windows software application that enables Hospital Medicines Information pharmacists to record, manage and store their enquiries. And in response to demand from the Pharmaceutical Industry, a modified version of MiDatabank has been developed for industrial medical information departments. This is now available as MiDatabank i Version 3.1

Since 2005 MiDatabank has been used by the UK medicines information service (UKMI), it has now been adopted as the national standard in the UK and used by over 200 MI centres in hospitals processing more than 500,000 enquiries per year. Following this success in the UK, MiDatabank is being used internationally and currently installed in 11 countries. In 2010 MiDatabank version 3 was adopted by the National Prescribing Service in Australia. 

MiDatabank is a highly scalable solution suitable for small companies or hospitals with a single site or large organisations with multiple sites. 

MiDatabank consists of two windows applications:

* Enquiry Manager
* Administrator Application

Both applications run on PC workstations, and connect to a Microsoft SQL server database running elsewhere on the network.

One objective of MiDatabank is to facilitate sharing enquiry related research and answers between MI Centres nationally and internationally. In the latest version it is possible to share enquiries on read only basis.
