The Medicines Information Centre at the Royal
Adelaide Hospital are the first centre in Australia to go live
with MiDatabank
Diana Faull and Janet McNeece, Senior Pharmacists say
"We all think it is great - exceptionally easy to use and
we are very happy. As a starting point the UK master resource list
has worked well for us as we use very similar resources.
"We find it easy to use - much easier than the old system
we had here. Changing to new blue tooth head sets and the ability
to access MiDatabank on multiple computers has facilitated speedy
data entry. The structure of the MiDatabank entry screens has made
it a simple process and the addition of the automatic key wording
has helped with enquiry retrieval. Being able to individualise
data entry has also been a great bonus"
MiDatabank is a Windows software application that enables Medicines
Information Pharmacists to record, manage and store their enquiries. It
is the national system that has been adopted by the UK Medicines Information
Network which comprises over 200 centres in hospitals throughout the UK.
MiDatabank consists of two windows applications:
Enquiry Manager
Administrator
Both applications run on PC workstations, and connect to a Microsoft
SQL server database running elsewhere on the network.
