Enquiries are keyworded at
the final completion stage. It is important to keyword them
correctly so that they can be easily retrieved once they
have been archived. However, you can free text search for
an in-progress enquiry by using “Quick Search of Pending
Enquiries”.
You need to do this using the
Administration Module>Keywords.
Next go to the Pharm-line website at www.pharm-line.nhs.uk.
Help>Download thesaurus.
Select File>Save as, to save the thesaurus as a text file.
Administration Module>Keywords>Import
Select the name of the file you have just downloaded and
click Open
Database is then updated with the new thesaurus.
N.B. This may take a few minutes and needs to be done when
no one else is using MiDatabank
How will
we know if the Pharm-line thesaurus has been updated on Pharm-line?
Pharm-line will notify UKMi
when the Thesaurus has been updated and a message sent to MI
pharmacists via the Weekly Mailing (your regional centre can
forward this mailing to all its local centres)
You can then download the thesaurus from the website.
If I don’t subscribe to Pharm-line will I still be able
to update the Thesaurus on MiDatabank?
To do this you need to have
permission to create keywords (this is set up under Administration>Mi
Centres Resources>Users>Permissions. It is prudent to
restrict the numbers of users who are able to add Keywords
to ensure there is control over what is added.
Click New Keyword, type in keyword and click OK.
The keyword will then be added to the alphabetical list
and appear as “False” as it has not been imported
from Pharm-line.
Will
local Keywords be deleted when the Thesaurus is updated via
Pharm-line?
