Changes will not adversly
affect existing enquiries. The integrity of
the enquiry
data
is retained. This means that some changes may not be possible
if they affect existing enquiries
(for
example
you
cannot delete a keyword if it has been used in an enquiry).
The system will notify you if this is the case
Users who are logged onto the system will not see the changes
you have made until they have logged off and back on again.
Can I import
Enquirer details from our Trust address book into Individuals/Organisations?
All existing enquiries retain
the individual and organisation details of the enquirer that
were taken at the time of the enquiry. In other words, the
new details will not
be reflected
in existing enquiries.
You cannot remove individuals or organisations if they
have been used in an archived or in-progress enquiry. Future
editions of MiDatabank will allow for individuals and organisations
to be disabled when they are no longer active.
If an Origin
changes e.g. 2 PCTs merge what happens to new/archived enquiries
and are old Origins still available for reports?
This depends entirely on what
you change and how you change it. If you over-write an Origin
(eg change New Forest PCT to South Hants PCT) then all (new
and archived) will have the new name. So if you want to keep
the old name for the Origin as well as the new one you would
need to Create a New Node and keep the old one going. However,
you can inactivate an old Origin so that it will not appear
in the active list but can be used for reports
