By default the text search of archived enquiries permits you to
search on the Enquiry Title only. To enable a search on all the
enquiry fields it is first necessary to enable Full Text Search
on the database. This can only be done directly on the SQL database
by the database administrator in your IT department. It cannot
be done by using MiDatabank.
The following instructions are for a DBA (Database Administrator)
using Microsoft SQL Server.
Instructions for Database Administrator
Create a Full-Text Catalog for the mi database that contains
indexes for the following tables:
Enquiries
ResearchResults
EnquiryKeywords
EnquiryNotes
Include all available fields for the indexes on the above
tables.
Ensure that you populate the catalog, and set an appropriate
population schedule for the catalog (e.g. every night at 2am).
Once FTS has been enabled, clicking on Search in the Enquiry
Manager application will display a window titled 'Search Enquiries
(Full Text Search Enabled)' that contains a checkbox called 'Search
All Fields' on the 'Text' tab as shown below:
