From a technical aspect there are 3 models that can be used. Model 1,
2A or 2B
MiDatabank Desktop users should only consider using Model 1.
For users that don’t need to import existing enquiries, the process
of going live with MiDatabank is straightforward:
Model 1
Pre-configure MiDatabank Admin with
centre data (users, sources, origins, enquirers etc)
Use MiDatabank for recording enquiries
However, if you are using an existing system then the approach
would involve the following steps:
Model 2A
Pre-configure MiDatabank Admin with
centre data (users, sources, origins, enquirers etc)
Enter the last enquiry on existing system
Transfer existing enquiries to MiDatabank
Use MiDatabank for recording enquiries
You may wish to continue to use your existing system, and to also have
a practice using MiDatabank, using test enquiries. This type of scenario
would involve the following
Model 2B
Pre-configure MiDatabank Admin with
centre data (users, sources, origins, enquirers etc)
Transfer existing enquiries to MiDatabank
for test purposes
Enter test enquiries into MiDatabank,
and familiarisation with the user-interface of the MiDatabank
Enquiry Manager application. You can also check that
the transferred enquiries (from 2 above) appear as expected,
and that users are comfortable prior to going live
And, just prior to going live:
Empty the midatabank enquiries in the
database (the Database Administrator runs a sql script*).
All the enquiries are deleted from the database, but
all
other
configuration
is retained.
Enter the last enquiry on existing system
Transfer Existing Enquiries to MiDatabank
Use MiDatabank for recording enquiries
* the sql script that empties the database
of all enquiries is available from us on request.
