Upgrading to MiDatabank v1.3 from a previous version:

Although version 1.3 contains minor bug fixes it also contains the latest version of the word-processing component and uses the .NET Framework version 2. The Windows Installer version 3 is also required to install the program. From a technical perspective it is a major upgrade. As such, prior to upgrading it is useful to make a note of the connection string to your database at the following locations:

C:\Program Files\CoAcS\MiDatabank 1\MIAdmin\Init.xml
C:\Program Files\CoAcS\MiDatabank 1\MIEnquiryManager\Init.xml

Once the installation has completed it is necessary to re-enter the connection string to your database for both init.xml files. Alternatively, prior to installation you can make a copy of init.xml files at the above location, and overwrite these after installation.

Please note:

•  This is a client upgrade only - there are no changes to the SQL database
•  A mixture of computers running version 1.2 and 1.3 can be run simulatenously without any issues, so it is not essential to upgrade all computers at the same time.
•  When upgrading a computer, users on other computers can continue to work with MiDatabank
