MiDatabank Version 2 was released at the end of September 2007. It is shipping with all new orders, and is available to existing customers on request. Please send an email to keith.brown@coacs.com to obtain your copy.

The main new features are as follows:

* Provision of a central web-site that contains a master list of resources (books, web-sites, journals) that is regularly kept up-to-date

* Synchronisation of MiDatabank desktop software between the above master list and the resources list to allow automatic resource updating when new editions of sources are published, or when URLs change etc

* Advanced Search facility includes a wide range of limits/filters including enquirer, completed by, complexity status, specialist referral etc.

* Advanced Report facility includes fields above plus ability to report at all layers of the Origins node stucture. Option to report on enquiries completed or in progress.

* Searching has been optimised and is approximately ten times faster than version 1.3

Other new features are as follows:-

* Users cannot login to MiDatabank on more than one computer

* Facility to Enable/Disable Enquirers and Organisations

* MiDatabank prevents Completion stage if UKMi-agreed compulsory fields have not been filled, and provides an indication of which fields need to be completed.

* Bug fix editing Origins

* Minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768

* MiDatabank Enquiry Manager is a single instance application to prevent multiple use by same person.

* Research screen default to “e-sources” rather than books

* Bug fix - autotitle does not show a blank if the first line in the Input question box is blank.

* Bug fix for system times over 1000 minutes

* Maintains scrolling position on LH and RH sides in Research field on auto-refesh for a read-only enquiry

* Added “taken by/ due by” to top line common to all four tabs: Input, Research, Answer and Completion.

* User is prevented from pasting huge images or massive amounts of data into the word-processing fields for the Question, Answer and Research.

* Bug fix - Number of enquiries completed is now calculated correctly on the statistics box on the Work-In-Progress window

* Bug fix - Rationale for Due-By date now showing on printed report
